Cockroach Fumigation in Nairobi
Cockroaches breed behind your cabinets, inside drains and under the cooker. Spraying what you can see does almost nothing. We treat the harbourage, not the symptom.
- Gel bait plus residual spray
- Safe around food areas
- Follow-up review
Why Cockroaches Keep Coming Back
The German cockroach is the one in most Nairobi kitchens. A single female carries an egg case holding up to 40 eggs, and she keeps it attached until it is almost ready to hatch. That is why an aerosol from the supermarket gives you two quiet days and then a fresh wave.
They also travel. In flats and apartment blocks they move between units through shared plumbing and service ducts, so treating one kitchen while the neighbour does nothing is a losing game. We tell you honestly when a building-wide treatment is the only thing that will hold.

How We Treat Cockroaches
We find the harbourage
We check behind the fridge and cooker, under the sink, inside cabinet voids and around drains. That tells us how bad it is and where to place the treatment.
Gel bait first
Bait is placed in the voids where they shelter. They feed, return to the harbourage and the effect spreads through the population, including the ones we never see.
Residual spray at the edges
Skirting, cracks, service ducts and drain surrounds get a residual application, so anything moving between rooms picks it up.
We review
We check the bait after a couple of weeks and top it up if there is still activity. Persistent kitchens sometimes need a third pass.
What We Treat, Room by Room
Cockroach work is mostly about the places you do not look.
| Area | What we do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Gel bait in cabinet voids, behind and under appliances, residual spray to skirting | This is where the food, warmth and water are. Most colonies are within a few metres of the sink or cooker. |
| Drains and plumbing | Treatment at drain surrounds and pipe entry points, gaps sealed where possible | In flats this is the main route between units. Untreated, your neighbours reinfest you. |
| Bathrooms | Bait behind the cistern and under the basin, residual to pipe boxing | Constant moisture. Often overlooked because people expect cockroaches only in kitchens. |
| Restaurants and kitchens | Out-of-hours gel bait programme, no heavy spraying near food surfaces | Keeps you compliant and trading. We work around your service hours. |
| Store rooms | Residual to shelving edges and wall junctions, inspection of incoming cartons | Cardboard deliveries are a common way infestations arrive in the first place. |
Every job is quoted after we see the space. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what you are dealing with.
What Makes the Difference
Most failed cockroach treatments fail for the same three reasons. We plan around all of them.
- We bait rather than blanket-spray. Heavy spraying scatters a colony into neighbouring rooms. Bait draws them in and travels back with them.
- We treat the whole run, not one room. If the kitchen and the bathroom share a wall, both get done.
- We come back. A review visit is part of the quote, because egg cases hatch after the first treatment.
- We work around food businesses. Out-of-hours scheduling and food-safe placement, so you do not lose a day of trading.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long before the cockroaches die?
You will usually see a sharp drop within 24 to 72 hours, and dead insects appearing in the open is normal. Bait keeps working for weeks, which is the point. If you still see healthy adults after three weeks, call us back.
Do I need to empty my kitchen cupboards?
Clear the cupboards we will be treating and cover or remove food and utensils. You do not need to empty the whole kitchen. We send the preparation list when you book.
Is it safe with children and pets in the house?
Yes, when the placement is done properly. Gel bait goes inside voids and behind units where children and pets cannot reach it, and we tell you the re-entry time for any sprayed surfaces.
I live in a flat and my neighbours have them too. Is there any point treating just my unit?
It will help, but it will not hold indefinitely if they are travelling through shared plumbing. We will tell you plainly if we think a building-wide treatment is what you actually need, rather than sell you repeat visits.
Can you treat my restaurant without closing?
Yes. We schedule outside trading hours and use bait rather than heavy spray in food preparation areas.
Which areas do you cover?
Nairobi and the towns around it: Westlands, Kilimani, Lavington, Kileleshwa, Runda, Ruaka, Karen, Lang’ata, South B, South C, Embakasi, Ruiru, Kikuyu, Ngong, Kitengela and Syokimau. If you are just outside, ask.
Get the cockroaches out properly
Send us a photo of where you are seeing them and we will tell you what it takes.
