Our cleaning services

Cleaning is easy to promise and easy to do badly. The difference between a clean that you notice and one that you do not usually comes down to three things: agreeing exactly what is included before anyone arrives, using the right method and product for each surface, and checking the work before the team leaves.

Cleantique provides cleaning for homes, offices and properties coming off a building site. Each service has its own scope, equipment and checklist, and you see that checklist before we start.

Routine, deep, commercial and post-construction cleaning

Routine cleaning Deep cleaning Commercial cleaning Post-construction cleaning
Typical trigger Keeping a home in good order Moving in or out, a long gap since a proper clean, preparing for guests Ongoing upkeep of a working office or premises Handover of a new build or a completed renovation
Focus Kitchens, bathrooms, floors, surfaces, bins Built-up grease, limescale, behind and under appliances, skirting, fittings, interior windows Workstations, washrooms, kitchenettes, meeting rooms, high-touch points, waste Fine dust, cement, grout haze, paint, adhesive, stickers, debris
When we work Daytime by arrangement Daytime by arrangement Outside working hours Any time before handover
Frequency Weekly or fortnightly One-off, or a few times a year Daily, weekly or scheduled One-off, often in stages
Service page Residential cleaning Residential cleaning Office cleaning Post-construction cleaning

The most common confusion is between a deep clean and a post-construction clean. A deep clean will not remove cement splashes, grout haze or paint residue. If a property has just come off site, it needs the post-construction service.

Who our cleaning services are for

  • Households that want regular help or a one-off reset before an event, a new baby or a visit from family.
  • Tenants and landlords preparing for a move-in, a move-out or an inspection.
  • Airbnb hosts and short-term rental managers who need consistent, fast turnovers.
  • Offices, clinics and commercial premises that need a dependable cleaning contract outside working hours.
  • Developers, contractors and homeowners handing over a new build or renovation.
  • Property managers responsible for several units.

What problems professional cleaning solves

  • Built-up grease, limescale and grime that ordinary weekly cleaning does not shift.
  • Homes and offices that look clean but have dust and dirt in the places nobody checks: tops of cupboards, skirting, light fittings, under appliances.
  • The time it takes to clean well, which many busy households and small businesses simply do not have.
  • Losing a deposit because a rental was not returned in the expected condition.
  • Construction dust that keeps reappearing after every wipe.
  • Inconsistent results from different people cleaning each time with no agreed standard.

What is included

Every cleaning service includes:

  • A scope agreed in writing before the clean, based on the property, its condition and what you want done.
  • A trained team with the equipment and materials needed for that scope.
  • Surface-appropriate products and methods, tested first on delicate finishes.
  • A final check against the checklist before the team leaves.
  • A return visit to correct anything in scope that was missed, at no extra cost.

The detail of what is cleaned room by room is on each service page.

What is excluded or requires a separate quote

  • Exterior windows above ground level, roofs and gutters.
  • Carpet extraction, upholstery and mattress cleaning, unless added to the scope.
  • Removal of large amounts of rubble or builders' waste.
  • Mould remediation, hazardous materials and biohazard cleaning, which need specialist providers.
  • Laundry, ironing and washing dishes, unless agreed.
  • Moving very heavy furniture.

If you are not sure whether something is included, ask. It is much easier to add an item at booking than on the day.

How the cleaning process works

  1. You describe the space. Number of rooms and bathrooms, current condition and what you need. Photos or a short video speed this up.
  2. We quote against a checklist. You know exactly what is included before anyone arrives.
  3. You prepare. We send a short preparation note, such as clearing surfaces and securing valuables.
  4. We clean. The team works through the checklist room by room.
  5. We check. The work is reviewed against the checklist. If something in scope was missed, we come back and put it right.

Before the visit

  • Clear clutter from surfaces and floors so the team can clean rather than tidy.
  • Put away valuables, documents and anything fragile you would rather handle yourself.
  • Tell us about delicate surfaces such as natural stone, wood, and specialist finishes.
  • Make sure there is running water and electricity.
  • Arrange parking and building access if needed.

During and after the clean

The team will confirm the checklist with you, work top to bottom and dry to wet, and leave each room finished before moving on. Afterwards, walk through the property and check it against the list. Let us know straight away if anything in scope needs attention.

Safety and products

We match products to surfaces and test anything new on an inconspicuous area first. Strong acids and solvents are used only where the job needs them and never on finishes they can damage. If anyone in the home has allergies, asthma or sensitivities, tell us and we will use milder products or yours.

What affects the price of cleaning

Factor Why it matters
Size of the property Number of rooms, bathrooms and total floor area
Condition Heavy grease, limescale or dust takes more time and product
Type of clean Routine, deep, move-out, office or post-construction
Extras Inside the oven and fridge, cupboard interiors, upholstery, balconies
Frequency Regular schedules are priced differently from one-off cleans
Access and timing Out-of-hours work, stairs without lifts and parking restrictions

Our guide to what professional cleaning costs in Nairobi explains these factors in more detail.

Common mistakes when booking a clean

  • Booking a standard clean for a property that needs a deep or post-construction clean.
  • Not mentioning delicate surfaces such as marble, granite or polished wood.
  • Leaving the clean until the same afternoon as a landlord inspection.
  • Assuming extras such as inside the oven are included without asking.

Why choose a professional cleaning service

A professional team brings the right equipment, works to a consistent standard and gets far more done in a day than one person working alone. Just as important, a written scope means you know what you are paying for and have something to hold us to.

Areas we serve

We clean homes, rentals and offices across Nairobi, including Westlands, Kilimani, Lavington, Kileleshwa, Runda, Karen, Lang'ata, South B, South C and Embakasi, and nearby areas including Ruaka, Ruiru, Kikuyu, Ngong, Syokimau and Kitengela.

Frequently asked questions

Do you bring your own cleaning materials and equipment?

Yes. The team arrives with equipment and materials suited to the job. If you would rather we used your own products, for example because of allergies, a delicate surface or a preference for particular brands, leave them out and tell us at booking.

What is the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?

A regular clean maintains a home that is already in good condition: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, surfaces and bins. A deep clean is a reset that reaches built-up dirt, limescale and grease, behind and under appliances, skirting, door frames, light fittings and interior windows. Read our deep vs regular cleaning guide.

How long does a clean take?

A two-bedroom deep clean usually takes three to six hours with a small team, depending on condition. Regular upkeep of the same home is much faster. Post-construction cleaning depends on the amount of dust and residue and can take more than a day.

Do I need to be at home during the clean?

No, although many clients prefer to be there at the start to walk through the checklist. If you will be out, we agree key handover and any access arrangements in advance.

What happens if something is missed?

If something that was in the agreed scope was missed, tell us and we will come back and put it right at no extra cost.

Can you clean the house and treat it for pests at the same time?

Yes, and they work well together. We usually recommend cleaning first and treating afterwards, or treating first and cleaning only the areas we advise, so that residual pest treatments are not wiped away. We plan the order for you.
